Clean Up Day: Tackling Litter Around the Barony Campus Astro-Turf Area...

I joined forces with our fantastic local litter campaigner, Keith Campbell, this morning . We rolled up our sleeves  to tackle the rubbish building up around the Caged Astro-Turf Area on the Barony Campus site .

It was disappointing to see how much waste had been left behind. We collected a massive amount of rubbish, including bags full of discarded plastic drinks bottles.

I want to say a huge thank you  to Keith for his tireless dedication to our community . The work he does to keep Cumnock and the surrounding areas clean and tidy is absolutely brilliant .

While community efforts are vital, East Ayrshire Council must also take a 'Basics First' approach to deal with this issue properly .

We need reliable services and enforcement to keep our public spaces tidy .

We should all take pride in our local area . Please remember to use the bins provided or take your rubbish home with you!
